SEJONG--(Korea Newswire)--On November 17, Otis Elevator Korea (VP and Managing Director IS Cho) invited its installation partners and their families for exhibiting great performance in safety compliance to the “Family Safety Recognition Day”, where they renewed their commitment for safety and shared growth.

Otis, the world’s leading manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways, is a unit of United Technologies Corporations (NYSE: UTX).

Otis first launched the annual Family Safety Recognition Day in 2015, marking its fifth anniversary this year. The event was organized to share Otis’ core value for safety with installation partners and renew their commitment for a win-win relationship. In fact, the safety program aims at not only the workers who are at the forefront of installation sites and carrying out these values, but also extends to their family members, which has brought positive responses from participants with lasting memories every year.

Celebration of the fifth anniversary took place in the City of Sejong, the geographical center of South Korea, where some 110 partner employees and their families joined Otis employees. Until last year, the event was held at local branches across the country or in Seoul.

Participants took part in various safety-themed games, including quizzes and treasure hunts, and One Otis family field day, enjoying every moment of Otis’ safety culture. The day was wrapped up with an award ceremony for partners known for their excellent safety record amidst warm congratulations from their families.

“Games like safety quiz and old adage game were a great opportunity for us, as well as our family to understand the significance of safety. It was a meaningful day as my kid got to learn how dad works and the importance of safety,” said Won-tae Yu, Director of Otis installation partner in Daegu who came to the event with his child.

“Both partners and Otis must understand and share the significance of safety and the need for accountability,” said Eugene Ahn, Head of Otis FOD & Installations, who went on to say, “We will continue to work with our partners to uphold the value of safety for win-win management.”

Otis continues to work for its management philosophy best described as “All Safe,” dedicated to ensuring the safety of not only its employees, but also its customers and partners. Otis offers a wide range of programs to its partners that share its culture for safety and pursuit for shared growth. One example of such programs is its “Safety Miles”, which is issued to those who are recognized for onsite safety compliance and can be redeemed for a number of benefits.
