Taisun Kang Added to the Prestigious Roster of Korean Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Inductees
Mr. Taisun Kang has been endorsed by Marquis Who’s Who as a Korean leader in business administration
With 40 years of industry experience to his credit, Mr. Taisun Kang founded and has worked as the president and the chief executive officer of Kisan Tech Co., Ltd., the first company in the ophthalmology field in the Republic of Korea to import and supply Excimer lasers from Germany since 1994, as well as the first and only company in Asia to import Argus from the United States. During this time, he held multiple positions for CHOS, a joint venture in the ophthalmology field between Switzerland, Germany and the Republic of Korea based out of China, between 1995 and 1998, including founder and chief executive officer. Previously, he served Seolim Co., Ltd. and Seolim Precision as founder and chief executive officer in 1987. Mr. Kang began his career as a part of the first research and development team that worked with chemicals imported from DuPont for Samsung Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd., between 1979 and 1985.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Taisun Kang has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. From 2003 to 2006, he held the roles of president for the Korean American Football Association and member of the International Federation of American Football. Moreover, he contributed to the Korean American Football Association as THE organizer and the host of the Kimchi Bowl between 2003 and 2005. Mr. Kang also found success as a representative of the Republic of Korea for the annual meeting of the International Federation of American Football in Frankfurt, Germany in 2003, and in Cancun, Mexico in 2004.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Kang has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. In 2013, he was chosen to receive the Stone Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit Award from the President of the Republic of Korea. Likewise, he was presented with the Certificate of Exemplary Local Tax Payment in 2018 and the Youth Friendly Small Giants Award from the Ministry of Employment and Labor of South Korea in 2017. Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Kang pursued an education at Sungkyunkwan University, earning a diploma in chemistry in 1979.
Although his career and accomplishments have been stellar, Mr. Kang holds family and charity dearest to his heart, which is why he and his family have been annual donors to The Society of Jesus in Korea since 1995. Through the donations, The Society of Jesus has been able to fund an assisted living facility in southern Korea for handicapped and disabled people.
