“Mineral grease use on AHU is shown to have harmful effects” NCH Korea suggests a safe lubricant solution for AHU

Ensure cleanliness of the air circulated through AHU filters, by using grease for AHU that is safe to be used in commercial areas with large floating populations and cleanroom factories producing food/beverage/pharmaceuticals/electronic devices.

PurePlex, the lubricant solution for AHU, was approved by NSF as ‘H1 grade grease’, and therefore, may be used in food manufacturing facilities

PurePlex remains effective from -18℃ to 135℃ continuous, staying in place to prevent wear under heavy load conditions. It is suitable for use in AHU and automated lubricator. PurePlex has exceptional heat reversion properties and superior water resistance, resisting acid and caustic wash-down. It contains Omnistal™, a unique preservative which helps prevent microbial breakdown of the grease, ultimately prolonging the lifecycle by 2 to 5 times and saving operating cost.

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA--(Korea Newswire)--Using mineral grease, made of mineral materials such as petroleum, on Air Handling Unit (AHU) is said to present several disadvantages and harmful effects on humans, such as shortened lifecycle, limited operating temperature range, exposure to harmful substances and carcinogens.

To respond to such threats, NCH Korea today introduced PUREPLEX, a safe grease for AHU. NCH’s PurePlex is a clear, food grade grease, approved by NSF as ‘H1 lubricant’, which may be used in food processing plants. Also, PurePlex was acknowledged for quality assurance, which observes petroleum product quality test process by K-Petro.

By using PurePlex in commercial areas with large floating populations such as large shopping malls, hotels and department stores, harmful substance in the air may be reduced. Harmful substances include carcinogens, which may be produced by use of mineral lubricants. NCH also emphasized the importance of using proven H1 lubricants in food/beverage manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, electric/electronic/semiconductor fabrication plants, for the safety of the employees and quality assurance of products.

PurePlex remains effective from -18℃ to 135℃ continuously while staying in place to prevent wear under heavy load conditions.

PurePlex may be used in commercial buildings with large floating populations such as shopping malls, hotels, department stores, and large buildings. It may also be applied in food processing plants, bottling plants, dairies, meat and poultry packing plants, breweries and canneries, water utilities, catering vendors, food manufacturing facilities, hotel kitchens, dispensers in food and service industry, oven and dishwasher, cleanroom factory and pharmaceutical companies, and all other manufacturing facilities requiring NSF certified H1 food grade grease.

**NCH PurePlex Customer Case Study: The company, which is a well-known food and beverage OEM vendor, used mineral grease made from petroleum for AHU and automated lubricator. When the mineral grease came in contact with the facility filter, the grease was oxidized and caused corrosion on equipment. It was also suspected that carcinogens, related to the use of mineral grease, polluted the air. The company switched to Pure Plex grease to secure the safety of air filtered through AHU, and resist oxidation and corrosion.

“Using mineral grease on AHU may shorten the lifecycle, and cause harmful effects on humans”, said DongEun Kim, Country Manager, NCH Korea. He added, “PurePlex, our lubricant solution for AHU, was approved by NSF as ‘H1 grade grease’, and therefore, may be used in food manufacturing facilities. It can keep the quality of air safe, reduce oxidation and corrosion of equipment, and save operating cost.”
